SKOVA takes on Little Italy, San Diego.
One of my favorite neighborhoods near my home is San Diego’s historic Little Italy. It’s vibrant, hip and stylish; there are countless restaurants, cafés, shops, and hotels. What a glorious location for another Skova shoot on a perfect San Diego day, for sensuous, colorful Skova wrap is an ideal accompaniment to any outfit. A favorite dining spot is the New Zealand-inspired Queenstown Public House, known for carrying a Silk Road beer and for being one of the most dog-friendly spots in the city (check out #dogsofqueenstown on Instagram). They not only offer Silk Road beers, but also bottled wine and wine on tap, a weekday brunch/lunch menu, full weekend brunch menu, and a dinner menu as well. If vegan is the way you want to go, the L.A.- based chain Café Gratitude offers unique plant-based gourmet cuisine to this San Diego location. Head to Davanti Enoteca To satisfy your cravings for Italian cuisine this Chicago-based chain founded by owner and CEO Chef Scott Harris offers a range of insalata, antipasti, pastas, and pizza, and they even offer a brunch menu as well. There is a broad selection of wine to choose from; Davanti Enoteca’s Happy Hour menu is worth checking out, too. One of the more unique locations for dessert is iDessert, located on India St. iDessert is the brainchild of pastry chef Jean-Phillipe Maury. iDessert’s create-your-own concept is customer-centered gourmet dessert in a casual environment. The store features iPads for customers to choose flavors and toppings for their selection of either a crêpe, a sundae, a trademark dessert or milkshake. Gourmet coffees, teas, and retail items are also available, as are dairy-free and gluten-free options. Other neighborhood favorites include Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, San Diego’s first specialty roaster; Heartsleeves Cofee; and Extraordinary Desserts, which offers not only desserts but has lunch, dinner, and a beer & wine menu. No doubt that San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood offers a hip, urban experience: there is history, style, excitement and is fun any day of the week. Add some Skova pieces so your Bohemian chic style goes a long way!
