Glamour & Striking Beauty: The Unforgettable Amalfi Coast

How do I feel on the Amalfi Coast? Glamorous, chic, sophisticated and blessed...it’s hard to choose an appropriate adjective to describe my senses and emotions when I’m there. What a stunning setting for a Skova photoshoot! This stunning, world-renowned locale with brightly colored villages clinging to hillsides, bustling towns and islands—think Capri, Positano, Ravello — is where a bon vivant and a tourists can mingle together.

I stayed at the NH Collection Grand Hotel Convento Di Amalifi where I received celebrity treatment with world-class service. A 5-star hotel set amid a 13th-century monastery, NH Collection Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi presents visitors with a myriad of opportunities to delight in luxury. There are 53 guest rooms and suites that brim with historical splendor amid modern aesthetics; I relished in exquisite views of the Mediterranean Sea from the hotel's breathtaking location perched upon a cliff amongst the vibrant Amalfi landscape. The hotel ended up upgrading me to the best room in the house with a beautiful balcony overlooking the city of Amalfi. One of my favorite parts of unpacking once I’m in my hotel is planning my outfits. My Skova shawl and jewelry designs are a glamorous, chic way to individualize every look I’ve planned to wear.

At the hotel, two restaurants await guests: Kyushu and La Locanda. Kyushu, the first Japanese restaurant on the Amalfi Coast, served me delectable sushi in a romantic setting overlooking the city of Amalfi below. The hotel’s second dining option, La Locanda Restaurant, is set outdoors near the infinity pool. I enjoyed my breakfasts and lunches here, al fresco on the spacious terrace, surrounded by the Mediterranean garden and lemon trees. My time on the terrace and in Kyushu gave me the opportunity to don my elegant Skova shawl — the piéce de résistance to any outfit, be it a couture dress or a pair of jean cutoff shorts.

One of the best ways to appreciate the Amalfi Coast is by sea. I sailed on a yacht, sipped Prosecco, and soaked up the sun, while I relished views of colorful homes and golden domed churches that descend into the water dotted with inlets and coves. I visited the towns of Capri and Positano, shopped in local boutiques where local designers offer clothing and accessories with tradition southern Italian prints. I also visited one of the local lemon farms where traditional lemon soaps are made. Limoncello, flavorful and mouthwatering, is also made here locally.

A visit to the Amalfi Coast is not complete without a visit to one of the gorgeous sunny beaches. The beaches here are not sandy — but small rocks — bonus to this was no sand in my food nor my drink. Crystal clear, warm water beckoned me to dip my toes on a typically hot, Mediterranean day. I sipped Prosecco while gazing out on the aquamarine water — talk about relaxed glamour! Both the beach and the gorgeous infinity pool at the hotel are where I enjoyed the use of my luxurious and colorfully designed Skova beach blanket; its intricate patterns are the perfect accent to the vibrant blue sea, sky, and golden pebbled beach.

The Amalfi Coast sparks dreams like few other travel destinations in the world. I found the landscape captivating, my luxe accommodations inspirational, the shopping exhilarating, and the warmth of the locals unforgettable. While I am always thrilled about and dreaming of the next photoshoot to showcase unique Skova designs, the Amalfi Coast is a singularly unique destination; I left a piece of my hear behind in this remarkable stretch of coastline in southern Italy.
