New Year, New You? Here are 5 tips to help you set and KEEP your goals in 2019!

It’s that time of year again. We are expected to set these amazing goals and crush each and every one of them, all while making it look easy… Daunting, we know. But, don’t worry, we are here to help!! 
Now don’t get us wrong, It’s not a bad thing to strive for greatness each and every day! We are our own limit and if we are willing to do whatever it takes, we are capable of  ANYTHING we want to! With that being said, sometimes life  or the pressure to “choose the perfect goal” can get in the way and hinder us form really becoming better versions of ourselves. That is why we created a list that contains FIVE tips to help you set and keep your 2019 goals!!

Of course we all want to become a world traveler or loose 90 pounds, but setting goals that are actually achievable is VITAL to reaching a goal. Instead of saying you want to become a world traveler, how about set a goal to take X amount of trips this year ( maybe go as far as to book a few flights or hotels)? How about committing to a healthy practice once a week, rather than committing yourself to a number on a scale? Don’t be afraid to set out baby steps as your goals… as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day.   
Many studies show that spending time outside offers all around positive  benefits in ones life. Wether you aim to take a walk around a park or lake once a month, or plan to spend more time with friends and family outdoors , something about breathing in the fresh air and feeling the daylight on your face, reinforces the positive changes one aims to make during this time of year. Of course, we believe the New Year is a perfect time take a travel towel or picnic rug and explore the beauty Mother Nature’s given us.

When you write down your goals, you are 90% more likely to accomplish them, over those who does not write them down. There is no “set explanation” as to why this happens, but case after case, individuals swear by this goal setting method. TIP: when writing down your goal, get specific. GET SO SPECIFIC that it feels real. Write down even detail. What life looks like, how you feel? Who is around you? Imagine what it is like to make these dreams come to life and WRITE IT DOWN.

Social pressure isn’t always a bad thing. Sharing your goals with individuals who are just as determined and passionate as you are, will help you stick to reaching your goals. You won't want to "let them down" when they ask how it's going. Jut be sure, to remember that an accountability partner is there to build you up, not tear you down. You should never beat yourself up for being human, these are goals, not ultimatums. Remember that as you decided who will be surrounding yourself with this upcoming year! 

Last but certainly not least, is the most important step of all!! TAKING ACTION! You can plan and goal set all you want, but unless you make the moves to make it happen, your goals will remain dreams and someone else will eventually live them out for you...
